Choc chip cookies

Great for kids’ lunch boxes. Whip up a batch today. Store in the pantry in an airtight container and enjoy a few with a cuppa in the afternoon.

PREP 15 MINS COOK 10 MINS MAKES 20

INGREDIENTS
125g butter, softened
½ cup caster sugar
½ cup brown sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla essence
1 egg
1 ¾ cups of self-raising flour
½ teaspoon salt
125g choc chips
50g walnut pieces, chopped, optional


METHOD
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Line a tray with baking paper.
Cream butter, both sugars and vanilla in a bowl.
Add the egg, followed by the flour, salt and choc chips.
Using a spoon, scoop out the mixture and place onto the tray evenly spaced out.
Bake for around 10 minutes or until golden.

SERVING SUGGESTION
Add 50g walnuts, chopped
